BADIN, N.C. – Hurricanes Harvey and Irma have captivated folks nationwide, especially in the Southeast. “We have all seen the destruction and damage caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma,” SEOPA President David Hawkins said. “Thankfully we know of no loss of life connected to the extended SEOPA family, and we continue to lift up friends in thoughts and prayers.”
In the aftermath of the horrific storms, SEOPA has decided to extend the regular conference registration rate through Monday, Sept. 25 to give more time to members who might not have registered early.
“Hurricane Matthew tried to put a damper on our Lakeland, Fla., conference last fall, but he failed,” SEOPA First Vice President and Conference Chairman Bobby Dale said. “Our conference, though a little wet, was a great success. Now Harvey and his sister, Irma, are doing their best to put hardships on many of our members as our October conference draws near.” SEOPA has 36 members in Florida. Several were in the direct path of Irma while others are suffering from flooding caused by the storm surge. “Of course, we send our prayers for safety, good health, and recovery for all affected by these monster storms,” Dale said.
SEOPA members who have not registered for the conference are encouraged to take advantage of the rate extension. Dale said, “We have an outstanding agenda in a beautiful setting. Hopefully, brilliant fall colors and cool temperatures will accentuate our seminars, outdoor activities, pre- and post-conference fishing opportunities, and of course, our famous SEOPA fellowship.”
If you are not a member, there is still time to join and register for the conference. For an overview of the conference click HERE or visit the various links before for specific information.
