Though she’s often assumed to be his sister, Chantal Honeycutt is the mother of 2012 Linsday Sale-Tinney Award recipient and SEOPA member Josh Honeycutt. Chantal is a budding photographer with a special interest in wildlife and nature. She served as official photographer for the annual awards banquet at the 2013 SEOPA conference, but her love of the outdoors shines in the photographs below.
“What is photography? To some it is a form of art, to others a preservation of loved ones and events, but I think photography is also an unusual type of hunting. It is spotting those rare moments when the light is magical. It is recording your subject at the precise angle and in a distinct setting. It is witnessing and procuring a detailed representation of the amazing landscapes and creatures in them from the largest to the smallest. Here are just a few of my favorite examples. I hope you enjoy them.”
