SEOPA Conference at Kentucky Dam Village Just Two Weeks Away

(BADIN, N.C.) – There will be something of interest for everybody who attends the upcoming conference of the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association at Kentucky Dam Village, Oct. 18-21. Some topics to be covered are the Kentucky Lake fishery, elk restoration east of the Mississippi, marketing through social media, tips for better writing, wilderness survival and rescue, archery, retirement planning for freelancers, the importance of pollinators and native grasslands, and more. Keynote speaker Brenda Valentine will talk about the growing popularity of hunting among women and then be joined by Tes Randle Jolly, Jill Easton, and Joella Bates on a panel moderated by Karen Lee on the subject. 

Members will go bowfishing with experts from Feradyne, learn about birds of prey from rehabilitators from the Liberty Nature Center, test drive vehicles from Nissan and Toyota, discover the best destinations for enjoying the outdoors in the Southeast, learn about all kinds of fishing and hunting equipment, try out the latest firearms and related equipment from Mossberg, Ruger, BPI, Crimson Trace, and Daisy and more, and enjoy the culinary magic of “The Sporting Chef” Scott Leysath.
